EGFAR SIST Portal for the ARD Web Ring

This Portal on Agricultural Research for Development (ARD) is managed by the Global Forum on Agricultural Research (GFAR) and was built using the SIST platform. It is part of the EGFAR platform and the ARD Web Ring, and therefore, it fits under the umbrella of the Coherence Initiative in Agricultural Research for Development (CIARD).

The ARD Web Ring (see here) is a voluntary coalition of partners sharing information in Agricultural Research for Development.

The Global Forum is promoting different tools to encourage and implement information sharing among the various ARD actors, and SIST has been identified as a suitable tool for a distributed architecture where nodes and gateways are not forced to manage information in the same way or to adhere to very specific protocols in order to share information.
